Dan Rather

Dan Rather is an acclaimed American author and journalist, renowned for his coverage of significant events and interviews with prominent figures over the past six decades. He began his career with CBS News in 1962 and quickly advanced, becoming the Anchor and Managing Editor of the CBS Evening News in 1981, a position he held for twenty-four years.

Rather's tenure at CBS News was marked by his contributions to various programs and documentaries. His reporting played a crucial role in establishing 60 Minutes as a leading news magazine program, and he also launched the innovative news magazine program 48 Hours. Throughout his career, Rather has personally covered almost every major dateline in the United States and around the world, including interviews with every president since Eisenhower.

After leaving CBS, Rather continued his journalistic pursuits by creating the Emmy Award-winning Dan Rather Reports on HDNet. He then founded News and Guts, an independent production company specializing in high-quality nonfiction content across various traditional and digital distribution channels.
