Dana Czapnik

Dana Czapnik is an accomplished American author, best known for her fiction writing that draws from her personal experiences and interests. She has received numerous awards for her work, including a 2018 NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship in Fiction from The New York Foundation for the Arts, and an Emerging Writers Fellowship from the Center for Fiction in 2017. Czapnik earned her MFA at Hunter College, where she was recognized with a Hertog Fellowship.

Throughout her career, Czapnik has worked on the editorial side of professional sports, with stints at ESPN the Magazine, the United States Tennis Association, and the Arena Football League. Her debut novel, The Falconer, was published by Atria Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, in January 2019. The novel, which explores the coming-of-age of a young woman in New York City during the 1990s, has been praised for its authentic and complex portrayal of female experiences.
