Daniel Friedman

Daniel Friedman is an accomplished American author and lawyer, best known for his thrilling mystery fiction novels. Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, Friedman graduated from White Station High School in 1999. After completing his high school education, he went on to attend the University of Maryland and later graduated from the NYU School of Law.

Friedman gained significant recognition for his debut novel, "Don't Ever Get Old," which was published in 2012. This novel, which features the retired police detective from Memphis named Buck Schatz, was a massive success and received a nomination for the prestigious Edgar Award for Best First Novel. It also won the Macavity Award in the same category. Following the success of his debut novel, Friedman wrote and published its sequel in 2014.

In addition to his writing career, Friedman is also a practicing lawyer in New York City. He is the son of the late Robert Friedman, a noteworthy lawyer from Memphis who was tragically killed in a parking lot in the city over a decade ago. The killer, who was a disgruntled client of Robert's, had disguised himself as a gentleman and ambushed Robert with multiple gunshots. The incident had a profound impact on Daniel Friedman, who still struggles to come to terms with his father's brutal killing.

Despite the challenges he has faced, Friedman has remained committed to his writing and legal careers. His debut novel was optioned for development into a Hollywood movie by the producers of the Sherlock Holmes movies. Friedman also maintains a blog where he connects with his fans and answers their queries.
