Daniel Pyne

Daniel Pyne is an American author who is best known for his Sentro series. His first book in the series, Water Memory, was released in 2021. Pyne is a versatile writer who alternates between prose fiction and screenwriting. In addition to the Sentro series, he has written several novels, including Twentynine Palms, A Hole in the Ground Owned by a Liar, Fifty Mice, and Catalina Eddy. Pyne's latest work, Water Memory, was released on February 1, 2021.

Daniel Pyne was born on June 29, 1955, in Oak Park, Illinois, to sculptor father Charles Joseph and mother Barbara Louise Pyne. He spent his childhood in Colorado and currently resides in Los Angeles. Pyne is married to Joan Elizabeth Cashel, and they have a daughter named Katie Pine, who is a TV producer. In his free time, Pyne enjoys skiing. Pyne has a BA from Stanford University and an MFA from UCLA's Graduate School of Film, where he taught screenwriting for several years.

Pyne's film credits include Backstabbing For Beginners, the remake of The Manchurian Candidate, Pacific Heights, Any Given Sunday, and Fracture. He has also worked on television shows, such as Miami Vice and Amazon TV's longest-running drama, Bosch. Pyne's work spans various mediums, and he has experience in silk screening, journalism, cartooning, advertising copywriting, screenwriting, directing, and teaching writing at UCLA's graduate school of film. Pyne is a talented and accomplished writer who has made significant contributions to the literary and film industries.
