Danielle Ramsay is a proud Scottish author who currently resides in a small seaside town in the North-East of England. She has always been a storyteller, with a vivid imagination that she has been able to translate into her writing. Although she initially pursued an academic career lecturing in literature, it was only after this that she found her true calling as a writer.
Ramsay is the author of nine novels, with her latest three being standalone psychological thrillers. Her debut novel, Broken Silence, was chosen for a Northern Writers' Award and was the first in a series of five DI Jack Brady crime novels. These books are set in a small seaside resort in the North East of England, and Ramsay's deep connection to this area is evident in her writing. After completing her Degree in Media Production, Ramsay spent several years working in the film industry before turning to writing full-time.
In addition to her crime novels, Ramsay has also written several psychological thrillers, including The Perfect Husband, My Best Friend's Secret, and The Other Wife. These books have been praised for their complex characters, intricate plotlines, and atmospheric settings. Ramsay's writing is heavily influenced by her love of classic literature, and she has cited authors such as Daphne du Maurier as a major influence on her work.
Outside of her writing, Ramsay is an active member of her community and is the Patron of the charity SomeOne Cares. This organization counsels survivors of domestic violence, rape, and child abuse, and Ramsay is deeply committed to supporting their work. When she is not writing or volunteering, Ramsay enjoys spending time outdoors, swimming in wild water, running, and taking long walks on the beach with her Westie.
