Darrell James

Darrell James is an award-winning author specializing in crime fiction and mystery thrillers. He is best known for his Del Shannon series, which includes "Nazareth Child," winner of the 2012 Left Coast Crime Eureka Award for Best First Novel. The series follows Del Shannon, a young investigator who specializes in locating missing persons. Subsequent installments, "Sonora Crossing" and "Purgatory Key," were each nominated for prestigious awards, including the Anthony, Macavity, and Shamus awards. Beyond novels, James has published over thirty short stories in mystery magazines and anthologies such as "Landmarked for Murder," "Politics Noir," and "Deadly Ink 2007."

James's writing is characterized by gripping suspense and intricate plotting, often exploring themes of justice and redemption. His short story "Even a Blind Man" was featured in the anthology "Vengeance," edited by Lee Child, alongside works by renowned authors such as Michael Connelly and Dennis Lehane.
