Dav Pilkey

Dav Pilkey is a well-known American author and illustrator of children's books. He was born on March 4, 1966, and currently resides near Seattle, Washington, with his wife, Sayuri. Pilkey is best known for his Captain Underpants series, which has become a staple in children's literature. In addition to Captain Underpants, he is also the author of the Ricky Ricotta, Dragon's Tales, Dumb Bunnies, and Big Dog & Little Dog series.

Pilkey's success as a children's author is made all the more impressive by the fact that he himself struggled with ADHD and dyslexia as a child. These challenges often caused him to be put in the hallway during class, which is where he first began creating the Captain Underpants character in his mind.
