Dave Lloyd

Dave Lloyd is a young adult and historical fiction author who hails from Montana. Born and raised in the Big Sky Country, Lloyd has a deep connection to the state and its history, which is often reflected in his writing. He is a fourth-generation Montanan, with ancestors who have lived in the state for over a century. In particular, Lloyd's great-grandmother had a significant influence on his career as an author. She came to the United States on a steamboat and lived in Miles City, and passed down stories about the men and women who lived during the days of the Wild West. These stories sparked Lloyd's fascination with the history of the time and helped to shape his writing career.\n \nGrowing up, Lloyd worked as a cowboy and later became an assistant ranch manager in charge of one of the largest ranches in Montana. During his time at the Western Cattle Company, he was responsible for thousands of cattle and thousands of acres of land. This experience gave him a deep understanding of the hard work and dedication required to run a successful ranch, and no doubt informs the authenticity of the characters and settings in his novels. Lloyd's writing is known for its deep insights and highly accurate historical work, and he has published more than ten novels in the "Riverboat," "Ben Hite," "Montana Saga," and "Buffalo" series, among many others.

Lloyd currently resides in Helena, Montana with his wife Donna. He continues to write about the history of the state he calls home, often chronicling the early beginnings of Montana in his novels. Lloyd's writing is informed by his own experiences growing up in Montana, as well as the stories passed down to him by his great-grandmother and grandmother. This combination of personal experience and family history gives Lloyd's writing a unique perspective and authenticity that readers are sure to appreciate.
