Dave Zeltserman

Dave Zeltserman is an American bestselling and award-winning author, well-known for his works in the horror, crime, and mystery & thriller genres. He has received critical acclaim for his novels and has won several awards for his writing.

In 2010, Zeltserman won the Derringer and Shamus awards for his novelette, Julius Katz. He also writes under the pen name Jacob Stone, where he has authored the Morris Brick thriller novels. His crime noir novel, Small Crimes, was named by NPR as the best crime and mystery novel of 2008, and by the Washington Post as one of the best novels of 2008. The novel is set to be released as a major film in 2017, starring Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Molly Parker, Gary Cole, Robert Forster, and Jacki Weaver.

Zeltserman's other notable works include Pariah, which was named by the Washington Post as one of the best books of 2009, and The Caretaker of Lorne Field, which was shortlisted by the American Library Association for best horror novel of the year in 2010. Monster, another one of his novels, was selected by Booklist Magazine for their 2013 list of top 10 horror novels. Outsourced and The Caretaker of Lorne Field are also currently in film development.

Zeltserman's books have been picked by NPR, the Washington Post, American Library Association, Booklist, and WBUR as best novels of the year. His Julius Katz mystery stories have won a Shamus, Derringer, and two Ellery Queen Readers Choice awards.
