David Arnold

David Arnold is a highly regarded American author, best known for his contemporary fiction novels. Prior to his career as a novelist, Arnold worked as a freelance musician and producer, a preschool teacher, and stayed at home to raise his son. Kindness and community are values that are deeply important to him, as well as his love for pesto. He currently resides in Lexington, Kentucky with his wife and son.

Arnold has written several popular novels, including "Mosquitoland" and "Kids of Appetite." In addition to his work as a novelist, Arnold is also a songwriter. He is a fan of indie bookstores, Arcade Fire, Elliot Smith, and all things Sorkin, among other musical and artistic influences. Arnold is represented by Dan Lazar of the Writers House.

In his free time, Arnold enjoys visiting record stores, Hogwarts, Middle-Earth, and his own home. His favorite time of year is Christmastime, when he can participate in fun activities with his wife and son. Arnold's musical tastes are varied, with a love for artists such as Elliot, Bowie, Veirs, Miles, The Antlers, Desplat, Tiersen, Sylvan Esso, Arcade Fire, Sufjan, Debussy, Brian, Sakamoto, and Sigur Ros.

Arnold's debut novel, "Mosquitoland," was named a Publishers Weekly Flying Start, and he has since won the Southern Book Prize and the Great Lakes Book Award. His books have been translated into over a dozen languages, and he continues to be a prominent figure in contemporary American fiction.
