David Baldacci is a highly successful and prolific American author, best known for his thriller and detective novels. He has published a total of 46 novels for adults, all of which have been bestsellers nationally and internationally. In addition, he has written seven novels for younger readers. His books have been translated into over 45 languages and are sold in 80 countries worldwide, with over 150 million copies sold globally.
Baldacci's writing career began in childhood, where he would write stories in a notebook given to him by his mother. He published his first novel, Absolute Power, in 1996, which was later adapted into a feature film with Clint Eastwood as its director and star. Since then, several of his novels have been adapted for film and television.
Before becoming an author, Baldacci had a successful career in law. He worked as a trial lawyer and a corporate lawyer, which provided him with valuable experience and knowledge that he has incorporated into his novels. He is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Virginia School of Law.
In addition to his writing career, Baldacci is a dedicated philanthropist.
