David Corbett is a successful American author, well-known for his fiction novels. He has written a total of seven novels, including "The Devil’s Redhead," "Done for a Dime," "Blood of Paradise," "Do They Know I’m Running," "The Mercy of the Night," "The Long-Lost Love Letters of Doc Holliday," and his latest release, "The Truth Against the World." His work has been highly acclaimed and nominated for several awards, including the Anthony and Barry Awards for Best First Novel, the Macavity Award for Best Novel, and the Edgar.
Before becoming a novelist, Corbett spent fifteen years as an investigator for a San Francisco private detective agency, where he worked on high-profile civil and criminal litigations. This experience has no doubt informed his writing, providing him with a wealth of knowledge and insight into the criminal world. In addition to his novels, Corbett has also written short fiction and poetry, with two of his stories selected for Best American Mystery Stories.

Corbett's book on the craft of characterization, "The Art of Character," was published by Penguin Books in 2013, and his follow-up, "The Compass of Character," was published by Writer's Digest Books in 2019.
