David Dickinson

David Dickinson is an Irish author who has made a name for himself in the genre of historical mystery novels. After earning a first-class honors degree in Classics from the University of Cambridge, Dickinson began his career at the BBC, where he edited several of the organization's key programs. These include Newsnight, a news and analysis show, and Panorama, a documentary-style program known for its in-depth reporting on current issues. Dickinson also worked as the series editor for Monarchy, a three-part series that traced the fortunes and prospects of the British monarchy.

In addition to his work in journalism, Dickinson has also pursued a successful career in creative writing. He is best known for his series of crime thriller novels, which often feature aristocratic figures, luxurious destinations, and the crimes and secrets of the rich and famous. One of his most notable characters is Lord Francis Powerscourt, a detective who often finds himself enmeshed in the Machiavellian machinations of Britain's aristocratic elite. Dickinson's fascination with aristocracy and monarchy is evident in his creative writing, which often explores the power dynamics and intrigue that exist within these rarefied circles.

Dickinson was born in Dublin and moved to England to study Classics at the University of Cambridge. After completing his university studies, he began working at the BBC, where he settled in London with his family. In addition to his work as a writer and editor, Dickinson has also pursued other creative projects, including his work on Monarchy and other documentary-style programs. Despite his success in multiple fields, however, Dickinson remains a private individual who prefers to let his work speak for itself.
