David E. Grogan is a thriller, suspense, and mystery author who hails from Savoy, Illinois. Born to a fighter pilot father and a Cleveland girl in Rome, New York, Grogan spent his formative years in Olmsted Falls, Ohio. This small town, with its Rocky River, Village Green, and a waterfall in the central business district, left a lasting impression on the future author. The soft ice cream shop and the outdoor basketball court were particular favorites among the local children, including Grogan. Despite the town's idyllic setting, Grogan felt the pull of the wider world and sought out opportunities beyond Olmsted Falls.
Grogan's career took him to the United States Navy, where he served as a Navy Judge Advocate for over 26 years. During this time, he prosecuted and defended court-martial cases, negotiated agreements in capitals around the world, and contributed to the fight against piracy and international terrorism. His experiences abroad and during his Navy career have had a profound influence on his writing. Grogan's novels, Sapphire Pavilion and The Siegel Dispositions, as well as his third novel, The Hidden Key, reflect his diverse background and international perspective. His work has been published by Camel Press, with The Hidden Key released in April 2020. Grogan currently resides in Savoy, Illinois, with his wife, their dog, Marley, and their three children.
