David Lubar

David Lubar is a well-known author who has written more than thirty books for children and young adults. He grew up in Morristown, New Jersey, and has also lived in several other places, including New Brunswick, Edison and Piscataway, NJ, and Sacramento, CA. He now resides in Nazareth, Pennsylvania.

Before becoming an author, Lubar worked as an electronic game programmer, a career that he counts as one of the highlights of his life. His debut novel, Hidden Talents, was a huge success and established him as a talented writer for young adults. The book was an ALA Best Book for Young Adults and made it onto over twenty state lists, thanks to the votes of thousands of kids and educators. Lubar has since written several other novels, including True Talents, the sequel to Hidden Talents; Flip, another ALA Best Book for Young Adults; and the Nathan Abercrombie, Accidental Zombie series.

In addition to his novels, Lubar has also written several short story collections, including the Weenies series, which has sold more than three million copies. His young-adult coming-of-age novel, Character, Driven, received starred reviews from several major publications. Lubar's work has been widely recognized and has won several awards, including Pennsylvania's Young Adult Book Award and the New Jersey Library Association's One Book New Jersey program. He is a popular speaker at schools and conferences around the country and has a strong following among young readers.
