The book was an ALA Best Book for Young Adults and made it onto over twenty state lists, thanks to the votes of thousands of kids and educators. Lubar has since written several other novels, including True Talents, the sequel to Hidden Talents; Flip, another ALA Best Book for Young Adults; and the Nathan Abercrombie, Accidental Zombie series.
In addition to his novels, Lubar has also written several short story collections, including the Weenies series, which has sold more than three million copies. His young-adult coming-of-age novel, Character, Driven, received starred reviews from several major publications.
