Dawn Brookes is a British author, renowned for her cozy mystery and crime novels, as well as her memoirs and children's books. She holds an MA in Creative Writing with Distinction and has won multiple awards for her work. Brookes is currently working on the tenth book in the Rachel Prince Mystery series, titled "Captain's Dinner Cruise Murder." Other books in the series include "A Cruise to Murder," "Deadly Cruise," "Killer Cruise," "Dying to Cruise," "A Christmas Cruise Murder," "Murderous Cruise Habit," "Honeymoon Cruise Murder," "A Murder Mystery Cruise," and "Hazardous Cruise."
In addition to the Rachel Prince series, Brookes has also written three nursing memoirs, including "Hurry up Nurse: memoirs of nurse training in the 1970s," "Hurry up Nurse 2: London calling," and "Hurry up Nurse 3: More adventures in the life of a student nurse." These memoirs are based on Brookes' own experiences as a nurse in Leicester, London, and an unnamed location. "Hurry up Nurse: memoirs of nurse training in the 1970s" has been a bestseller in the USA for over 18 months. Brookes has also written a number of children's books, including "Suki Seal and the Plastic Ring," "Gerry the One-Eared Cat," "Danny the Caterpillar," and the "Ava & Oliver" adventure series. Brookes is also the founder of the Oakwood Literature Festival in Derbyshire, England. She has a passion for nature and animals, and often includes them in her writing. Brookes holds a bachelor's degree with honors, a master's degree in education, and an MA in Creative Writing. She currently resides in Derbyshire, England.
