Deb Spera

Deb Spera is an accomplished American author, television producer, and owner of a television company. She is best known for her historical fiction and suspense novels, with her debut novel, "Call Your Daughter Home," published in 2018, gaining significant recognition. The novel, set in 1924, follows the lives of three women struggling to make ends meet in an economically ravaged South Carolina.

Before becoming an author, Deb began her TV career at Eden Roc Films, where she worked on two films, "From Dusk to Dawn" and "What's Eating Gilbert Grape." She subsequently moved to Showtime, where she oversaw movies such as "12 Angry Men," "The Baby Dance," "On the Beach," and "Inherit the World." Currently, Deb is the owner of One-Two Punch Productions, a television production company, where she has developed and executive produced over a thousand hours of television, including shows such as "Criminal Minds," "Army Wives," and "Reaper."

Deb was born and raised in Kentucky and currently resides in Los Angeles. In addition to her work as an author and television producer, she has been published in various publications, including "Garden and Gun," "O Magazine," "Six-fold The Wascana Review," "Pennsylvania English," and "L.A. Yoga Journal." Deb is a two-time finalist for The Kirkwood Literary Prize through UCLA writers program and The Montana Prize in fiction.
