Debbie Rix is a celebrated author, known for her meticulously researched and captivating novels. After a successful career in journalism and broadcasting, Rix turned to writing novels, drawing on her passion for history and her eye for detail. Her first novel, "The Girl with Emerald Eyes," was published in 2015 and tells the story of the woman who left the money to build the Leaning Tower of Pisa, exploring two time zones - the modern day and the 12th century.

Rix's subsequent novels have also been set in different time periods and locations, showcasing her versatility and range as a writer. "Daughters of the Silk Road" follows the journey of a family of merchant explorers who return to Venice from China with a Ming Vase, while "The Silk Weaver's Wife" is set in the world of the Italian silk industry. "The Photograph" is a poignant tale of a Hungarian refugee who escapes to London from Budapest in 1956, and "The Secret Letter" explores the lives of two young girls in the 2nd world war. Rix's latest novel, "The German Mother," will be published in July 2023.

Rix's dedication to historical accuracy is evident in her writing, and she strives to weave her stories around real-life events. She spends a lot of time in Italy, which is the setting for five of her eight novels. When not travelling, she lives in the Kent countryside with her journalist husband, children, chickens, and four cats. Rix began her career with the BBC, appearing as a presenter and reporter on a variety of factual and light entertainment television series. She has also written about gardens and gardening, reflecting her private passion. Rix's novels have been published in several languages, including French, Italian, Czech, and Russian, and are available in bookstores across America.
