Deborah Reed

Deborah Reed is the author of seven novels, including the critically acclaimed "Pale Morning Light with Violet Swan" and "The Days When Birds Come Back," both published by Mariner Books. Her novel "Things We Set On Fire" sold over 100,000 copies in its first six months, while "Carry Yourself Back To Me" was named an Amazon Editors’ Pick of the Year. Her works explore themes of family, memory, and resilience, often set against evocative landscapes.

Reed has an extensive background in teaching and literary mentorship, having led novel-writing courses at the Hellenic American University in Athens and the UCLA Extension program. She also served as co-director of the Black Forest Writing Seminars at Albert-Ludwig University in Freiburg, Germany. Previously the owner of Cloud & Leaf Bookstore in Manzanita, Oregon, she relocated to Berlin in 2022, where she continues to write. Her forthcoming novel is set to be announced soon.
