Debra Dier is a bestselling American author, known for her critically acclaimed romance novels and short stories. She was born and raised in Niagara Falls, New York, where she harbored dreams of pursuing a creative career. However, she was persuaded to take a more practical approach and obtained a BS in Information Systems Management. This career path led her to write computer code and design computer systems, which was not her initial vision of a creative career. Despite this, she quickly advanced in her field and became a manager of other programmers and analysts in a large corporation at a young age. It was then that she decided to explore her passion for writing and published her first novel, Surrender the Dream. This decision marked the beginning of her successful writing career.
Dier is a mother and, at one point, decided to take a break from writing to focus on her daughter's upbringing. During this time, she took on various tasks such as making Halloween costumes, volunteering for room parent every year, and becoming a Girl Scout leader. However, her idea of camping is staying at a three-star hotel, which reflects her preference for comfort over roughing it. Recently, she helped her daughter move into a dorm at UCLA, which further illustrates her commitment to her family.
After a long hiatus, Dier has returned to writing and is currently working on revising all her old novels. She has reconnected with her love for writing and is determined to produce high-quality work. In the past year, she has rewritten her first book, Beyond Forever, into A Twist of Fate, which was released in late November 2013. Dier is a talented author who has earned a place in the Writer's Hall of Fame, and her work continues to captivate readers. She currently resides in California with her family and is dedicated to her craft.
