Derek Haas

Derek Haas is a successful American author and screenwriter, best known for his series of novels featuring the assassin known as Columbus, starting with "The Silver Bear."

Haas was born in the United States in 1970 and has written not only several acclaimed novels but also screenplays, including for the films "3:10 To Yuma" and "Wanted." He is also the co-creator of the hit television show "Chicago Fire" and editor of popcornfiction.com.

In addition to his work on "Chicago Fire," Haas also executive produces "Chicago PD" and "Chicago Med." His writing for the screen includes collaborations with his partner Michael Brandt on films such as "2 Fast 2 Furious" and "The Double."

Haas's literary works include six novels, five of which make up the Silver Bear series, and one standalone espionage thriller titled "The Right Hand." He is known for his gripping and suspenseful storytelling, making him a popular and respected figure in both the literary and entertainment industries. Haas currently resides in Los Angeles.
