Devon C. Ford is a author from the United Kingdom who has lived in various places before settling in the Midlands. His career in public services began during his teenage years and has provided him with a wide range of experiences, both good and bad, which serve as inspiration for his book ideas. These experiences often cause him to have bouts of insomnia.
Ford did not develop a love for reading until he became an adult, having avoided anything related to academia growing up. Once he discovered the joy of reading, he made it a regular habit to always have at least one book on hand. This newfound passion for reading inspired him to start writing his own stories.
Ford's debut works, the "After It Happened" series, were published in April 2016 and include "Survival," "Humanity," "Society," "Hope," and "Sanctuary." The series concluded with the release of "Rebellion" in June 2017. The success of these books launched Ford into the top 10 sellers listings in the UK, Australia, Canada, and the US. In 2016, he made the decision to write full time.
Ford's self-published beginnings caught the attention of the publishing world and resulted in contracts with Podium Publishing for Audible, narrated by R.C. Bray, and a publishing deal with Vulpine Press for kindle and paperbacks. He has since released several other works, including the start of a multi-author series and spin-off books from the "After It Happened" world. He has also collaborated with other authors on various projects. Ford's writing career is influenced by his background in public services, with many of his works featuring elements of dystopian and post-apocalyptic fiction.
