Diana Rodriguez Wallach is a successful author of young adult fiction, known for her diverse range of novels that have gained recognition and awards within the literary community. She has written various young adult novels, including the Anastasia Phoenix Series, a trilogy of young adult spy thrillers, and Small Town Monsters, a YA Latinx horror novel published in September 2021 through Random House's Underlined imprint.
Wallach's Anastasia Phoenix Series, published by Entangled Publishing, has gained significant acclaim. The first book, Proof of Lies, has been optioned for film and was chosen as a finalist for the 2018 International Thriller Awards for Best Young Adult Novel. Additionally, Bustle listed Wallach as one of the "Top Nine Latinx Authors to Read for Women's History Month 2017," and Paste named Proof of Lies one of the "Top 10 Best Young Adult Books for March 2017."
In addition to her thriller and horror novels, Wallach has written three YA contemporary Latina novels: Amor and Summer Secrets, Amigas and School Scandals, and Adios to All The Drama, published by Kensington Books. Amor and Summer Secrets placed second at the 2009 International Latino Book Awards for Best Young Adult Novel. She has also penned a YA short-story collection entitled Mirror, Mirror (Buzz Books, 2013).
Wallach has contributed to several anthologies, including "Dear Bully: 70 Authors Tell Their Stories" (HarperCollins) and "Latina Authors and Their Muses" (Twilight Times Books, 2015). In 2011, she published a highly regarded essay in "Dear Bully: 70 Authors Tell Their Stories" (HarperCollins), which was the only essay chosen from the anthology by Scholastic to be used in its classroom materials.
Wallach's commitment to education is evident through her work as a creative writing teacher. She taught Creative Writing through Johns Hopkins University's Center for Talented Youth for six years, has been a mentor for SCBWI and Las Musas, and currently teaches Creative Writing Workshops in schools throughout the Northeast. She holds a B.S. in Journalism from Boston University and lives in the Philadelphia area with her husband, two kids, and two cats.
