Diney Costeloe is a bestselling author of sagas and general fiction novels. She was born in London to a publisher and remembers receiving a lot of encouragement to write from her father. Costeloe wrote her first short story, titled "Tom's Party," when she was just five years old. Her father had it published and bound, and from then on, Costeloe has been writing ever since.
Costeloe has written ten romantic novels under the pseudonym Diney Delancey and four novels as Diney Costeloe. All of her novels have been published in large print and several have been recently published as e-books. She has always had some writing project in the works and enjoys the process of researching and writing her novels.
Costeloe was encouraged to write at a young age and has been writing ever since. She started writing short stories and articles, many of which were published in magazines, newspapers, and read on the radio. She also wrote some books for children, but unfortunately, the publishers decided to close their children's section before they could be published. Despite this setback, Costeloe continued to write and eventually published her first novel, "The Slopes of Love," under the name Diney Delancey. She chose this name because it sounded like a romantic novelist, and she has since written nine more romances, as well as modern historical sagas set in the twentieth century.
Costeloe's novels are known for their engaging characters and historical settings. She enjoys writing about people who are caught up in wars and how they react, survive, and cope with the challenges they face. Her most recent books, "The Throwaway Children" and "The Girl With No Name," are set during the London Blitz and explore the experiences of unaccompanied child migrants to Australia and the lives of people during the bombing of London. Costeloe's work is definitely fiction, but she hopes it can educate as well as entertain. She enjoys the research required for her novels and often gets ideas for new books while researching her current projects. Costeloe's grandchildren are a great source of inspiration for her, and she continues to write with the support of her long-suffering husband.
