The author's own family history and Oklahoma roots have provided ample material for her mysteries, which are rich in historical detail and family values. Casey's work has been well-received, earning her multiple awards and nominations, including the Arizona Book Award, the Willa Award, and the Oklahoma Book Award. She currently resides in Tempe, Arizona, with her husband, poet Donald Koozer.
