Drew Chapman is a successful American author, known for his spy thriller novels. He was born and raised in New York City and earned his B.A. in History from the University of Michigan. After college, he held various jobs including newspaper reporter, bartender, bike messenger, Yankee Stadium knish vendor, and bootleg t-shirt salesman at Madison Square Garden. His passion for storytelling led him to pursue a career in film, and he began working as a staff writer for Disney Animation. Since then, he has worked for several major studios including Disney, Fox, Universal, Warner Bros., and Sony.
In addition to his work in film, Chapman has also made a name for himself in television. He has written and sold pilots to ABC, Fox, ABC Family, and Sony TV. He also wrote and directed an independent movie called Stand Off, which starred Dennis Haysbert and Robert Sean Leonard. Moreover, Chapman has worked on television shows such as Legends, an eight-part miniseries called The Assets, and many other projects. When writing for television, he uses the name Andrew Chapman, but his novels are released under the Drew Chapman name.
Chapman is also a prolific novelist, best known for his Garrett Reilly series. His writing career began at a young age when he wrote his first novel in the fourth grade, although it remains unpublished. His published works include The King of Fear, which was released digitally in sections by Simon & Schuster starting on November 3, 2015, and in paperback in February of 2016. He is married with two children and divides his time between Los Angeles and Seattle.
