Duncan M. Hamilton is an author of fantasy short stories and novels, who draws inspiration for his settings from Renaissance Europe. He has a Master's Degree in History, which has greatly influenced his writing and deepened his interest in the Medieval and Renaissance periods. Prior to becoming a full-time writer, Hamilton practiced as a barrister.
Hamilton's work is heavily influenced by his passion for history and fantasy, resulting in fast-paced heroic adventures with engaging characters and high stakes. He is from Ireland and has published several books, including his most recent trilogy, Dragonslayer, which is a heroic fantasy tale centered on redemption, revenge, megalomania, and, of course, dragons. The trilogy includes three books: Dragonslayer, Knight of the Silver Circle, and Servant of the Crown. Hamilton is currently working on a new trilogy and a few other projects in different genres, which he plans to release in Spring 2021.
In addition to his Dragonslayer trilogy, Hamilton has written other books, including the Society of the Sword trilogy and the Wolf of the North series. The Society of the Sword trilogy consists of The Tattered Banner, The Sword's Edge, and The Master of the Emsworth Accord. The Tattered Banner was recognized as one of Buzzfeed's 12 Greatest Fantasy Books of 2013. The Wolf of the North series includes Wolf of the North, The Shadow of the Wolf, and Wolf's Bane. Hamilton has also written a standalone novel and some shorter works. He offers a free digital copy of his novella, The Marcher Lord, to those who sign up for his newsletter.
