Gwen Faith Hunter, known by her pen names Faith Hunter and Gwen Hunter, is an American author of fantasy and thriller novels. She is also a blogger and a founding member of MagicalWords.net, a blog that provides resources for writers. Under the name Faith Hunter, she writes fantasy novels, including the Jane Yellowrock series and the Soulwood series. The Jane Yellowrock series is a dark urban fantasy that follows Jane, a full-blooded Cherokee skinwalker and hunter of rogue-vampires, in a world inhabited by supernaturals. The Soulwood series is a dark-urban fantasy/paranormal police procedural/para-thriller series featuring Nell Ingram, an earth magic user and special agent of PsyLED. Under the name Gwen Hunter, she writes thriller novels, such as the Junkyard Cats series, which is a near-future SciFi series of novellas.
Faith Hunter grew up in Louisiana and discovered her love for reading in fifth grade. She decided to become a writer in high school and has since written over 40 books, anthologies, and compilations under her pen names Faith Hunter and Gwen Hunter. Her works have been translated into 30 languages and have been bestsellers in the New York Times and USA Today. In addition to writing, Faith is also a jeweler, orchid enthusiast, Japanese maple collector, white-water kayaker, and avid reader. She researches her novels in great detail and tries most everything her characters do. She is a workaholic and spends most of her time writing, but she also enjoys RV traveling with her husband to whitewater rivers all over the Southeast. Faith is also a member of the online writing forum MagicalWords.net and has a strong presence on social media, where she interacts with her fans and fellow writers.
