Forrest Bryant Johnson

Forrest Bryant Johnson, also known as "Frosty," was born in 1935 in Louisville, Kentucky. He acquired his nickname during his time as captain of the high school swim team and continued to use it for many years. Johnson attended the University of Louisville, where he graduated in 1957 with degrees in psychology and chemistry. To pay for his tuition, he worked at the YMCA in the evenings and as a lifeguard during the summer months. Although Johnson had planned to attend medical school, he lacked the necessary funds and grades. While at the university, he was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity, the American Chemical Society, and the Kentucky Archeological Society.

After graduation, Johnson was employed as an assistant chemist at a local industrial coatings manufacturer. In 1960, he joined the army as a private and completed Basic Infantry Training at Fort Knox, Kentucky. In 1961, he was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant and completed company grade officers training at Ft. Sam Houston, graduating with a grade of "Superior." He served an additional eight years with the army and completed his service with the rank of captain. After leaving the army, Johnson returned to civilian life and worked in sales for a coatings company. He became interested in ancient Egyptian history and owned two Basenjis, which led him to write his first book, "Basenji Dog From The Past," published in 1972. He has since written several fiction and non-fiction books, including "Hour of Redemption," "Phantom Warrior," and "Last Camel Charge." Johnson has been married to former Japanese singing star Chiaki Keiko for over twenty-five years, and they conduct desert scenic tours in and around the Las Vegas area.
