Γ.G. Vandagriff is a bestselling and award-winning author, who has written over thirty novels across multiple genres, including regency romance, historical romance, romantic suspense, genealogical mysteries, and women's fiction. She has won several awards for her writing, including the Best Historical Novel Award for "The Last Waltz" in 2009 and the Whitney Award for Best Historical Novel in 2009 for the same book.
Vandagriff made her debut as an author with "Cankered Roots," the first novel in her Alex and Brigge Genealogical Mysteries series in 1994. Since then, she has written more than thirty-four titles across more than eight series of novels, several stand-alone novels, and collections. Her regency romances have been compared to the witty novels of Georgette Heyer, and her genealogical mystery series features two whacky widows, Briggie and Alex, as sleuths. Her most recent publications include a trilogy of romantic suspense novels, Breaking News, Sleeping Secrets, and Balkan Echo, which tell the tale of high-profile TV journalists from the WOOT TV station in Chicago.
Born in the United States, Vandagriff received her master's degree from George Washington University after graduating from Stanford. She has held various positions in her professional career, including working as an associate editor at Stanford's Hoover Institution, an assistant treasurer in the Harvard Treasurer's office, a bond analyst at Fidelity Investments, and an international banker for Continental Illinois National Bank. She is married and has three children and seven grandchildren, who are her greatest joys in life. Vandagriff's favorite novel is Jane Eyre, and she loves Florence, Sundance Resort, The Voice, hot chocolate, lilacs, and dachshunds.
