G. Neri

G. Neri is an accomplished American author and artist. He is the recipient of several prestigious awards, including the Coretta Scott King Honor for his work on "Yummy: the Last Days of a Southside Shorty" and the Lee Bennett Hopkins Promising Poet Award for his free-verse novella, "Chess Rumble." Neri's books have been translated into multiple languages and have reached readers in over 25 countries.

Some of Neri's notable works include "Tru & Nelle," "Grand Theft Horse," "Hello, I'm Johnny Cash," and "Ghetto Cowboy," which has been adapted into the upcoming movie "Concrete Cowboy," starring Idris Elba. In 2017, Neri was awarded a National Science Foundation grant that allowed him to travel to Antarctica. This experience has likely provided him with unique inspiration for his writing.

Prior to becoming a writer, Neri worked in a variety of creative fields, including filmmaking, animation, and digital media production. He was also one of the creators of The Truth anti-smoking campaign. Currently, Neri is co-chair of the Antarctic Artists and Writers Collective and continues to write full-time.
