Gabriela Epstein

Gabriela Epstein is a New York Times, USA Today, and Publishers Weekly bestselling comic artist and graphic novelist based in Austin, Texas. She has gained recognition for her work adapting several installments of Ann M. Martin's "The Baby-Sitters Club" series for Scholastic Graphix, including "Claudia and the New Girl," "Good-Bye Stacey, Good-Bye," and the forthcoming "Kristy and the Mother's Day Surprise." Epstein also co-created the award-winning bilingual graphic novel "Invisible" with Christina Díaz González. Currently, she is writing and illustrating the official comic continuation of Nickelodeon's "Danny Phantom" series, titled "Danny Phantom: A Glitch in Time," and its sequel for Abrams Books.

Born in Philadelphia, Epstein studied oil painting at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts before earning her BFA in Illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design. She began her career as a character designer in television animation before transitioning to comics. Her work often explores themes of identity and belonging, particularly through visually dynamic storytelling. "Invisible," her collaboration with González, has received multiple accolades, including the Hawai'i Nene Award, the Pennsylvania Young Readers' Choice Award, and the Notable Book for a Global Society Award.

Epstein continues to expand her body of work with projects that blend her background in fine arts and animation. Her illustrations are known for their expressive characters and vibrant compositions, making her a sought-after artist in both graphic novels and licensed properties.
