Gaia Cornwall

Gaia Cornwall is a children's picture book author and illustrator, who currently resides in Providence, Rhode Island with her husband and two children. From a young age, Cornwall has been passionate about drawing and storytelling. She has shared that she can't remember a time when she wasn't creating art or expressing herself through picture books.

Cornwall is a versatile artist, whose work can be found in various mediums, including magazines, online platforms, and product designs. Her illustrations have even made their way into movies. In addition to her illustration work, Cornwall has also authored several picture books. Her debut book, "Jabari Jumps," was published by Candlewick Press in May 2017 and quickly gained recognition in the literary world.

"Jabari Jumps" received numerous accolades, including being featured in People Magazine, The New York Times, and named a Charlotte Zolotow Honor Book, an Amazon Best Children’s Book of the Year, and a 2017 NPR staff pick. Cornwall's subsequent works have also been well-received by critics and readers alike. Her upcoming titles include "Jabari Flies" and "Best Bed For Me," both of which are set to be published by Candlewick Press. Additionally, she has collaborated with author Lauren DeStefano on "The Unicorn Came to Dinner," which will be published by Roaring Brook Press.
