Gard Sveen is a Norwegian author renowned for his crime fiction. His debut novel, "The Last Pilgrim," originally published in Norwegian as "Den siste pilgrimen," introduced readers to troubled police detective Tommy Bergmann and marked the beginning of a critically acclaimed series. The novel earned Sveen widespread recognition, winning the Riverton Prize, the Glass Key, and the Maurits Hansen Award - all in consecutive years. He remains the only author to have received all three honors for a debut work.
