Gavin Scott is a highly accomplished author, broadcaster, and writer, best known for his work on the Emmy-winning mini-series "The Mists of Avalon," as well as the films "Small Soldiers," "The Borrowers," and "Legends of Earthsea."
Before moving to the United States, Scott produced and directed over two hundred documentaries and short films for BBC and commercial TV in the UK. His first assignment in the US was with George Lucas, where he worked on developing and scripting "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles."
In addition to his work in film and television, Scott has written several novels, including "Hot Pursuit," "A Flight of Lies," and "Small Soldiers," which was a bestseller for Grosset and Dunlap. He has also written a Dickensian historical novel set in the nineteenth century, "The Adventures of Toby Wey," and the series "The Age of Treachery," "The Age of Olympus," and "The Age of Exodus" for Titan Books and Random House.
Scott is also known for his work as a broadcaster and has appeared on Spike TV’s “Deadliest Warrior” as an expert on the Arab Revolt and in Ridley Scott’s “Prophets of Science Fiction” series. He has also been featured in British documentaries about Jules Verne and Harry Potter.
Scott is currently working with Sony Pictures on an action adventure set during the Second World War, and is also in talks with Archetype Productions for producing his supernatural adventure "Lost Squad." He is also writing a 10 part series based on Dona Gracia Nasi, a 16th century woman who saved numerous Jews from the Inquisition, for a German production company.
Scott is also known for his work as a director and producer, having directed and written the New Zealand film "Battle of the Treasure Island" and creating and executive producing the science fiction adventure series "The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne," which was broadcast around the world.
