Gemma Halliday

Gemma Halliday is a successful American author, best known for her mystery novels. She has written several series, including High Heels Mysteries, Hollywood Headlines, Hartley Featherstone, Anna Smith & Nick Dade, and co-authors the Jamie Bond series. Her writing is influenced by her varied and dynamic career background before becoming an author.

Before becoming a novelist, Halliday worked in a number of different sectors and tried her hand at various jobs. During her teenage years, she dreamed of becoming a rock star or Marilyn Monroe. However, her career took a different turn as she worked in the film and television industry, imported teddy bears, worked as a department store administrator, a preschool teacher, a temporary tattoo artist, and even a 900-number psychic. These diverse experiences provided her with a wealth of knowledge and perspectives, which she later incorporated into her writing.

Halliday eventually found her calling as a writer and sold her first book, Spying in High Heels, in 2005. Since then, she has become a highly acclaimed author, receiving numerous awards, including a National Reader's Choice award and three RITA nominations. Her books have also hit both the USA Today and the New York Times Bestseller lists. Halliday now resides in the San Francisco Bay area, where she continues to write and publish her popular mystery novels.
