George Wallace is an accomplished American author and former Navy commander. Born and raised in Eastern Ohio, Wallace received his commission in the US Navy and a degree in engineering from The Ohio State University. After serving on two of Admiral Rickover’s famous “Forty One for Freedom” submarines during the height of the Cold War, he served as Executive Officer on the Sturgeon class nuclear attack submarine Spadefish and commanded the Los Angeles class nuclear attack submarine USS Houston SSN 713. During his naval career, Wallace worked extensively with the SEAL community and was awarded the CIA Meritorious Unit Citation under his command. He retired from the Navy in 1995 and moved to the civilian business world.
However, Wallace had another passion - comedy. From a young age, he dreamed of becoming a comedian but knew he needed an education first. After graduating with degrees in transportation and marketing from the University of Akron, Ohio, he entered the advertising work force. But his comedic dream was always present, and within a week of leaving advertising, he began performing stand-up comedy. Wallace won an American Comedy Award for “Best Stand Up Comedian” and has appeared in numerous films, television shows, and comedy specials. He has headlined at The Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas since 2004 and is known for his interactive comedy style, audience participation, and giving away prizes during his shows. Wallace's most recognized material includes his "Yo Mama" and "I Be Thinkin" jokes, and he continues to evolve as a comedian, ensuring that no two shows are the same.
