Georgiana Mary Caroline Byng, better known as Georgia Byng, is a highly regarded British author and illustrator, born in 1965. Growing up in a household with three naughty brothers and a sister, near the river Itchen, Georgia's interest in characters and storytelling was sparked at an early age. Her father's love for nature and her mother's encouragement led her to interview the many characters she found in the nearby country lane and even try to sell her neighbors handmade goods. As a child, Georgia had a passion for acting, which led her to attend The Central School of Speech and Drama in London at the age of 18. Following her graduation, she began painting and writing, using her love for poetry and songs as a foundation for her stories.
Georgia Byng's first published work was a comic strip, which she worked on for five years. In 1995, she released her first published book, "The Sock Monsters," a comic strip story aimed at children aged 5-7. However, Georgia is best known for her Molly Moon series, starting with "Molly Moon's Incredible Book of Hypnotism," which follows a girl who discovers a book about hypnotism and learns to hypnotize people. The series has been successful and has helped establish Byng's reputation as a talented children's author. In addition to her work as an author and illustrator, Byng has also worked in television and film, both as an actor and a producer, allowing her to bring her own work to life on the big screen and gain a deeper understanding of the production process. She is currently married to Marc Quinn, a conceptual artist, and they have three children. The family enjoys traveling together, with India being one of their favorite destinations.
