Gil Reavill is a highly accomplished American author, journalist, and screenwriter, who has made significant contributions to the fields of true crime, historical, and fiction writing. Born in Wausau, Wisconsin, Reavill received his education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Colorado. After starting his career working for daily newspapers in Colorado, he moved to New York in 1981 and began his journey as a writer.
In the 1980s, Reavill worked as a ghostwriter for Al Goldstein, the publisher of Screw magazine, and wrote plays that were produced in off-off-Broadway venues. His first nonfiction book, 'Smut,' was published based on his experiences during this time. As a novelist, Reavill is best known for his "13" series of thrillers, which includes '13 Hollywood Apes,' '13 Stolen Girls,' and '13 Under the Wire.' His latest crime novel, 'This Land Is No Stranger,' is a Nordic thriller co-authored with American dramatist Sarah Hollister. In addition to his own work, Reavill has also collaborated with other writers on projects such as 'Club King' by Peter Gatien, 'Famous Nathan' by Lloyd Handwerker, 'I Only Know Who I Am When I Am Somebody Else' by Danny Aiello, and 'Steve & Me: My Life with the Crocodile Hunter' by Terri Irwin. Reavill currently resides in Westchester County, New York.
