Gina Damico

Gina Damico is the author of several young adult novels, including the Croak trilogy - "Croak," "Scorch," and "Rogue" - as well as "Hellhole," "Wax," and "Waste of Space," all published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Books for Young Readers. Known for her darkly comedic and irreverent storytelling, Damico's works often blend humor with macabre themes, particularly in her Grim Reapers Gone Wild series, which explores the misadventures of teenage reapers. Her writing has garnered a dedicated following for its unique voice and imaginative premises.

Born and raised in Syracuse, New York, Damico studied theater and sociology at Boston College, where she participated in the Committee for Creative Enactments, a murder mystery improv troupe that may have influenced her penchant for improbable and bloody scenarios. Before becoming a published author, she held a variety of eclectic jobs, including tour guide, transcriptionist, scenic artist, and retail worker, experiences that likely contributed to her sharp observational humor and diverse characterizations.

Damico currently resides in California with her husband, two cats, and a dog, surrounded by an ever-growing collection of quirky yard sale finds. Her novels continue to appeal to readers who enjoy dark humor, unconventional protagonists, and stories that defy genre expectations.
