Gina Frangello

Gina Frangello is a highly accomplished author and editor in the field of creative writing. She is currently on faculty at the University of California, Riverside's low residency MFA program, where she shares her expertise with aspiring writers. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Frangello is the Sunday Editor for The Rumpus and the Fiction Editor for The Nervous Breakdown.

Frangello has authored several highly regarded works, including the short story collection "Slut Lullabies" (Emergency Press 2010) and the novel "My Sister's Continent" (Chiasmus 2006). Her writing has been praised for its depth and complexity, and she has been recognized for her talents with numerous accolades, including being selected as one of the top 10 books of the year by Las Vegas City Life and being a "Read This!" finalist for Spring 2006.

In addition to her work as an author, Frangello has been a significant force in the independent publishing community for over a decade. She served as the Editor of the award-winning literary magazine Other Voices for ten years and co-founded its book imprint, Other Voices Books, in 2004. As the Executive Editor of Other Voices Books, Frangello has specialized in short story collections, themed anthologies, and novels set outside the United States. She is also the Fiction Editor of The Nervous Breakdown, an online literary collective, and has guest-edited several outside projects, including the anthology "Falling Backwards: Stories of Fathers and Daughters" (Hourglass 2004) and the inaugural issue of TriQuarterly Online.

Frangello's journalism and book reviews have been published in numerous newspapers and blogs, including the Chicago Tribune and The Huffington Post. She is a dedicated advocate for building personal connections between writers and readers and enjoys participating in book clubs and blog tours.
