Gordon James Ramsay is a highly accomplished British chef, television personality, and restaurateur. Born in Scotland and raised in Stratford-upon-Avon, England, Ramsay initially aspired to become a professional soccer player. However, an injury led him to pursue a career in the culinary world instead. He trained under some of the most renowned chefs, including Albert Roux, Marco Pierre White, Guy Savoy, and Joël Robuchon.\n \n Ramsay's culinary career reached great heights when he opened his first wholly-owned and namesake restaurant, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, at the age of 31. The restaurant quickly gained recognition and received the most prestigious accolade in the culinary world – three Michelin stars. Ramsay's success in the restaurant industry led him to open establishments around the world, including in London, Las Vegas, Singapore, Baltimore, Europe, and Dubai.
Apart from his achievements in the restaurant business, Ramsay has become a prominent figure on the small screen. He is known for presenting TV programs about competitive cookery and food, such as Hell's Kitchen, The F-Word, and Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares. His popularity in the US and UK has led him to star in various hit shows, including MasterChef, MasterChef Junior, Hell's Kitchen, 24 Hours to Hell and Back, and Gordon, Gino & Fred.
Ramsay has also ventured into other successful projects outside of restaurants and television. He has an online MasterClass, a mobile puzzle game called "Chef Blast with Gordon Ramsay," and a widely popular YouTube channel with various cooking formats. Ramsay's social media presence is also notable, as he enjoys TikToking with his daughter Tilly. In 2006, Ramsay received an OBE (Order of the British Empire) awarded by Queen Elizabeth II in recognition of his contributions to the culinary industry. He and his wife, Tana, also established the Gordon and Tana Ramsay Foundation in 2014 to support the London-based children's hospital Great Ormond Street.
