Grant McKenzie is a Scottish-born author who currently resides in Canada. He is known for his edge-of-your-seat thriller novels, which have been published in numerous countries including Germany, the UK, Canada, the US, China, and Taiwan. McKenzie's first novel, "Switch," was a success and launched his career as a thriller author. Some of his other notable works include "Port of Sorrow," "The Butcher's Apron," "K.A.R.M.A.," "The Fear in Her Eyes," "No Cry for Help," and "Speak the Dead."
In addition to writing under his own name, McKenzie also writes the "Dixie Flynn" series of novels under the pseudonym M.C. Grant. This series, which includes "Angel with a Bullet," "Devil With A Gun," and "Beauty With A Bomb," has been published by Midnight Ink and has been shortlisted for the prestigious Shamus award. McKenzie's short fiction has also been featured in the Lee Child edited "International Thriller Writers First Thrills."
Before becoming a full-time author, McKenzie worked as a journalist in several areas of the newspaper business. He has experience as a late-night reporter, design/copy editor, and even as Editor in Chief of Monday Magazine. He has won numerous awards for his journalism work in Canada and the US, including an award from the Association of Alternative Newsmedia in 2012.
McKenzie is also known for his work with the poor and homeless in his current residence of Victoria, British Columbia. He has been recognized for his efforts and has received awards for his charitable work. He continues to write and publish novels, with his latest novel "The Seven Truths of Hannah Baxter" being shortlisted for the 2023 International Thriller Writers award.
