Greg Melville

Greg Melville is an author and journalist whose work spans adventure writing, environmental topics, and historical exploration. His acclaimed book "Greasy Rider" was selected as a campus common read by six colleges and universities and earned a place on the American Library Association's list of the top 100 "Outstanding Books for the College Bound" for the 2000s. His latest project, "Over My Dead Body: Unearthing the Hidden History of America's Cemeteries," reflects his fascination with tombstone tourism and historical narratives.

With a background in journalism and editing, Melville has contributed to prominent publications such as Outside, Men's Health, National Geographic Traveler, and The New York Times. He has held editorial roles at Men's Journal, Sports Afield, and Footwear News, and worked as a crime reporter for a daily newspaper in Northern Virginia. A U.S. Navy veteran and reservist, Melville also taught English at the U.S. Naval Academy, where he received the institution's Award for Teaching Excellence in 2019.
