Hank Phillippi Ryan

Hank Phillippi Ryan is a highly acclaimed American author of mystery, thriller, and romantic suspense novels. She was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, and attended the Western College for Women in Oxford, Ohio. Ryan also studied in Germany at the International School in Hamburg. Before becoming a successful author, she worked as a broadcasting reporter for WIBC radio in 1971 and later became a legislative assistant in Washington DC for the Administrative Practice and Procedure Subcommittee within the Senate Judiciary Committee. She began her writing career as an editorial assistant at the Rolling Stone Magazine.

Ryan has written fifteen award-winning novels of suspense, including the Charlotte McNally series and the Jane Ryland series. She is known for her exceptional storytelling abilities and has been hailed as a "master at crafting suspenseful mysteries" by national reviews. Some of her popular works include "The House Guest," "Her Perfect Life," "The First to Lie," and "The Murder List." Ryan has received numerous accolades for her writing, including the Agatha Award, Anthony Award, and Mary Higgins Clark Award.

In addition to her writing career, Ryan is also an investigative reporter for the Boston, Massachusetts NBC affiliate, WHDH-TV. She has won numerous awards for her journalism, including 37 EMMYs and 14 Edward R. Murrow awards. Ryan is also a co-host and co-founder of The Back Room, co-host of First Chapter Fun, and host of Crime Time on A Mighty Blaze. She lives in the Boston area with her husband.
