Hannah Barnaby

Hannah Barnaby is an accomplished author of children's and young adult literature, known for her critically acclaimed novels and picture books. Her debut young adult novel, "Wonder Show," was a finalist for the William C. Morris Award, while her second novel, "Some of the Parts," earned a starred review from Publisher's Weekly and sold out its first printing within two weeks. Barnaby has also made a mark in picture books with titles such as "Bad Guy," "Garcia & Colette Go Exploring," "There's Something About Sam," and "Home Is...," as well as the chapter book series "Monster & Boy."

With a background as a children's book editor, indie bookseller, and writing instructor, Barnaby brings a wealth of experience to her craft. She holds an MA in Children's Literature from Simmons College and an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College. Her work often explores themes of identity, adventure, and emotional depth, resonating with both young readers and critics. Notably, she served as the first-ever Children's Writer-in-Residence at the Boston Public Library, further cementing her dedication to children's literacy and literature. Barnaby currently resides in Charlottesville, Virginia, where she continues to write and contribute to the world of children's books.
