Hannah Byron was born near the Seine in Paris, but was raised in the south of the Netherlands by Anglo-Dutch parents. Growing up, she was surrounded by a rich tapestry of cultures, which has greatly influenced her writing. After completing her education, she became a university lecturer and translator, and spent many years traveling throughout Europe. It was during this time that she developed a deep interest in World War II history, particularly her family's connection to D-Day. This curiosity eventually evolved into an extensive study of the subject, which would later serve as the foundation for her bestselling WW2 historical fiction series, The Resistance Girl Series.
Hannah's writing is known for its strong female protagonists who embody the spirit of the generation that started the women's lib movement. Her heroines are not afraid to get dirty, fly planes, or do intelligence work, and they fight alongside their male counterparts for freedom, equality, and love. Hannah's novels are clean and wholesome, paying tribute to the amazons of the past who paved the way for today's girl bosses.
In addition to her work as Hannah Byron, she also writes historical mysteries under the pen name Hannah Ivory. Her latest series, The Mrs Imogene Lynch Series, features the kind but opinionated Victorian widow of Constable Thaddeus Lynch. Through her writing, Hannah brings to life strong and dynamic female characters that inspire and entertain readers.
