Hari Kunzru

Ḥari Mohan Nath Kunzru, better known as Hari Kunzru, is a distinguished British journalist and novelist. He was born in 1969 in London and is of mixed descent, with an English mother and a Kashmiri Pandit father. Kunzru was raised in Essex, which is where he spent his formative years.

Kunzru pursued his higher education in England, studying English at Wadham College, Oxford University. He later went on to gain a Master's degree in Philosophy and Literature from Warwick University. Kunzru's literary career has been highly successful, with his works being translated into over twenty languages. His writing has been featured in numerous prestigious publications, including The New York Times, The New York Review of Books, The New Yorker, The Guardian, Granta, October, and Frieze.

Kunzru has authored six novels, with his latest book, Red Pill, published in September 2020. His novel White Tears was a finalist for the PEN Jean Stein Award. Kunzru is an Honorary Fellow of Wadham College Oxford, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, and has been a Cullman Fellow at the New York Public Library. He has also received prestigious fellowships such as the Guggenheim Fellowship and the Fellowship of the American Academy in Berlin.

In addition to his writing and academic pursuits, Kunzru is also an accomplished educator. He currently teaches in the Creative Writing program at New York University. Moreover, he is the host of the new podcast Into the Zone, which is produced by Pushkin media. Kunzru's impressive body of work and his contributions to literature and education have solidified his position as a prominent figure in the literary world.
