Harriet Evans is a bestselling author, born in London and known for her deep understanding and appreciation of romance literature. She grew up in Chiswick, where she developed a love for reading, drama, and classical music, even serving as the head chorister for her church choir. After completing her high school education, Evans attended Bristol University, where she pursued Classical studies.
Upon completing her university education, Evans returned to London and began working in publishing. She loved her job in publishing and felt that people understood her when she spoke. After a few years, she became an editor and worked with many bestselling novelists. In 2009, Evans left publishing to focus on writing full-time. She has since written thirteen novels and several short stories, with two of her books being selected for the Richard and Judy book club and one winning the Good Housekeeping Book of the Year prize.
Evans has always been a writer, starting from her childhood when she would staple together books and write stories. She studied Classics at university, which helped her understand the world and people better. She worked as an editor in publishing for many years, working with many lovely authors before deciding to write full-time.
In 2019, Evans moved to Bath with her family, where she currently resides. She loves living in Bath and enjoys seeing everyone back in the city post-pandemic. Evans is an avid reader and has a collection of jumpsuits and books. She has a soft spot for Greek Gods, having studied Classics at university. Evans has always been passionate about writing and has many stories in her head that she loves telling. She is currently working on her latest novel.
Evans' books are known for being gripping, involving, heartwarming stories about families, mysteries in the past, and have a Gothic tinge. Her favourite novelists include Penny Vincenzi, Rosamunde Pilcher, Daphne du Maurier, and Elizabeth Jane Howard.
