Helena Fox

Helena Fox is a distinguished Australian literary fiction author, best known for her acclaimed debut novel, "How It Feels to Float." Born in Lima, Peru, Fox spent her formative years traveling and living in various countries due to her parents' decisions to enroll her in English schools. She attended seven different schools before settling in Australia at the age of eleven. This nomadic childhood led to a series of challenging experiences, but Fox eventually found her footing in senior college in Canberra.

After completing a law degree and working as a lawyer, Fox realized that her true passion lay elsewhere. She decided to pursue a career in authorship and moved to the United States, where she earned her Master's degree in Creative Writing from Warren Wilson College. Fox's time in the US proved to be a significant turning point in her life, marking one of her finest, yet scariest and biggest decisions. Upon returning to Australia, she brought with her an MFA in Creative Writing, a husband, and a son.

Currently residing in Wollongong, Australia, Fox is dedicated to nurturing the creative talents of young people. She runs writing workshops and mentorships, empowering the next generation of writers to find and express their voice. Fox's own experiences of growing up as a multilingual, third-culture kid have undoubtedly influenced her writing, contributing to her unique narrative style and perspective. "How It Feels to Float" is a testament to her ability to capture the complexities of the human experience with depth and empathy.
